East Peckham 21 v Maidstone Veterans 15
The Villagers had to take the field two short and without a full recognised front row which led to the rather unsatisfactory situation of uncontested scrums. The game plan was obvious looking at the average ages of the respective sides. The visitors preferred the mauling game of close support whilst Peckham needed to spread the ball wide. With Maidstone’s experience, the very heavy conditions and Peckham’s propensity to kick game plans into touch, the match was a closely contested affair.

Once again this season, the Villagers left it until the very last minute of play to wrap up victory after two weeks without a match. The end result might be construed a little harsh on the visiting team who have suffered narrow defeats two weeks running and the return fixture with home advantage will be interesting.
